The story of Chuseongju began with one man's conviction. His great-grandfather, a devout Buddhist, made offerings to a Buddhist temple, and learned the precious secrets of traditional liquor brewing.
This liquor later became the family liquor of the Namwon Yang clan, and the tradition has been preserved for four generations, including the time of Master Yang Dae-su. This unwavering spirit, this deep-rooted spirit, is the very beginning of CHUSUNGGOUL.
A Master's Legacy: Remaking Chusungju
"Carry on the family business."
His father's final words rekindled the spirit of brewing. He established a brewery under the name "Chuseonggoeul and began brewing his long-standing liquor once again.
Through his efforts, Chusungju was restored and designated as Korea's 22nd Traditional Food Master, reviving the value of tradition.
Currently, Yang Jae-chang, the fifth-generation successor and son of Master Yang Dae-su, is learning the traditional liquor-making techniques from Master Yang Dae-su with sincerity and philosophy.
